Long,
long, long, I MEAN A LONG TIME AGO, There were three fellers....
just kiddng..
"Easy Street" is
the album we recorded for Mercury/Polygram, the second major record
label we were signed with during our Nasvhille years. Kent Blazey
wrote most of the songs on the album, and Kent went on to write mega-hit
songs for Garth Brooks and other Music City singing stars.
This album was an attempt by our producers and Mercury'/Polygram to
compete with the biggest selling country music group at that time, Alabama.
Still, we got our vocal sound on these very commercial, mid-1980's style
country songs. "Dusty Dixie Road," a song that the songwriters
handed to us personally, made it onto this album that was put out just
after Lee Greenwood's version was released. "Southern Women" was
our highest climbing single on Billboard's Hot 100 Country Music Chart,
making it to the #35 position. Our bluegrass version of "Eight
Days a Week" is also included on this album.
It's hard to believe that "Easy Street" was recorded in 1984,
twenty four years ago!! It is part of our musical journey and we hope
you enjoy taking another walk down memory lane with us, remembering
those Nashville years.
